Ridge Cap

Ridge cap shingles are specially designed shingles installed along the peak (ridge) of the roof where two slopes meet, providing a finished seal against water and wind.

Ridge cap shingles are thicker and more wind-resistant than standard shingles. In DFW, GAF TimberCrest and Owens Corning DecoRidge are the most common high-profile ridge cap products. Ridge caps are one of the first elements to fail in high winds — DFW storms regularly produce 60-80 mph gusts that peel ridge caps off, exposing the ridge vent beneath. JRH always uses manufacturer-specified ridge cap products to maintain warranty coverage.
