Pipe Boot

A pipe boot (also called a pipe jack or vent boot) is a pre-formed flashing that seals the gap around plumbing vent pipes where they penetrate the roof surface.

Pipe boots are one of the top 3 leak sources on DFW residential roofs. Standard neoprene rubber pipe boots degrade in Texas UV and heat within 8-12 years, cracking and allowing water penetration around the pipe. JRH Construction uses lifetime pipe boots made of lead or thermoplastic on all new installations. During free inspections, JRH checks every pipe boot on the roof — a common issue that many roofers overlook.
