Wind Damage
Wind damage to roofs includes lifted, creased, or missing shingles, torn membrane sections, displaced flashing, and structural damage caused by sustained high winds or gusts.
DFW experiences damaging winds (58+ mph) multiple times per year during spring storm season. Wind damage typically starts at roof edges and corners where uplift forces are strongest, then progresses inward as shingles or membrane are peeled back. Once the wind seal on shingles is broken, even moderate winds can continue the damage. Texas insurance covers wind damage under the same provisions as hail. JRH Construction documents wind damage with drone photography and Xactimate estimates for insurance submission.
